Business-Forum of Tajikistan and United States of America entrepreneurs
The Business-Forum was inaugurated by the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Faiziddin Qahhorzoda, who welcomed entrepreneurs and investors of both countries.
In their turn, the Chairman of the United States and Tajikistan Business Council (USTJBC), Director of public relations and business development of AGCO Corporation - Mr. Philip de Leon and Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Tajikistan - Ms. Catherine Crawford, expressed their gratitude for holding the event in high level and pointed out the incentives of the use of a wide range of economic and commercial opportunities.
Participants of the Business-Forum included high-level government and business leaders from both countries. The investment opportunities in energy, industry, tourism and other priority areas of the Republic of Tajikistan and the United States of America were introduced by the responsible ministries and agencies of both countries. In addition, a Memorandum was signed between SUE “Tajinvest” andthe United States and Tajikistan Business Council.
At the end of the Business-Forum, bilateral meetings were held in B2B format between the entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and United States of America, where they considered commercial and investment projects for further development and improvement of business communication between two sides.
In the current interstate relations between these two countries holding such an event will establish strong bilateral trade relations and promote economic and investment cooperation, development and implementation for mutually beneficial projects and further development of a comprehensive and wide-ranging cooperation.
It should be noted, that the diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 14th of February 1992. Total amount of foreign investments by the United States of America to the economy of Republic of Tajikistan during the period of 2007-2017 (first quarter) consist of million US dollars 463,9 mln US dollars, from which 167,9 mln US dollars goes to direct investments, 296,0 mln US dollars goes to loans from enterprises and organizations and 6,1% goes to portfolio investments.
