The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hоkim Khоlikzoda, is participating in the 58th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank, which began on May 4, 2025, in Milan.
On the first day of the meeting, the Tajik delegation held talks with ADB Vice President Yingming Yang, Director General of the Central and West Asia Department Evgeny Zhukov, and ADB Executive Director for Tajikistan Mr. Vikas Shil.
During these meetings, various aspects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank were discussed. The ADB reaffirmed its readiness to allocate USD 500 million for this important project, which will significantly contribute to green development not only in Tajikistan but also in neighboring countries.
The delegation also participated in the consultative session of the Asian Development Fund, which mobilizes resources from various sources to implement grant-based projects in least developed and developing countries. Tajikistan is one of the major beneficiaries of grants from this fund.
The Asian Development Bank is one of Tajikistan’s key development partners. Since the beginning of cooperation in 1998, the ADB has financed around 200 projects in Tajikistan, totaling more than USD 2.7 billion. Currently, the ADB is supporting 19 projects in the country with a total value exceeding USD 1.0 billion.
