On 24–25 November 2025, the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sharifzoda Muhammadzариф Rahmon, participated and delivered a speech at the 9th meeting of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Working Group, organized at the initiative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva, Switzerland.
The meeting brought together representatives of member states, international organizations, financial institutions, and the private sector. Discussions focused on improving public-private partnership mechanisms, investment priorities in infrastructure, sustainable project management, the role of PPPs in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and the adoption of innovative technologies.
In his speech, Deputy Chairman Sharifzoda Muhammadzариф highlighted the role of public-private partnerships in developing key infrastructure projects, presented the main aspects of Tajikistan’s practical experience, ongoing reforms, and the improvement of the sector’s legal and institutional framework, expressed Tajikistan’s readiness to expand cooperation with UNECE, international financial institutions, and private investors, and emphasized the importance of implementing innovative, sustainable, and technology-driven projects.
Within the framework of the event, a meeting was also held between the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Switzerland, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva Sharaf Sheralizoda, and Deputy Chairman Sharifzoda Muhammadzариф with Tony Bonnici, Head of the Partnership Cooperation Section and the Economic Cooperation and Trade Division of UNECE.
During the meeting, discussions focused on expanding Tajikistan’s cooperation with UNECE, supporting new technical and educational projects, improving the regulatory framework for public-private partnerships, and enhancing the country’s participation in regional economic and trade programs.
