Forum of Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan

On May 20, 2024, as part of the official visit of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the Forum of Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan was held in the city of Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Mikail Jabbarov, Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan - Sulton Rahimzoda, Executive Director of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO) - Yusif Abdullayev, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan - Sherali Kabir, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBIA) - Orkhan Mamedov and Director of the Export Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan - Bahriddin Sirojiddindzoda.

The Forum discussed the possibility of cooperation between entrepreneurs and investors of the two countries in the fields of industry, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, services, information technology and other priority areas, and entrepreneurs and investors of Azerbaijan were invited to participate in priority investment projects in Tajikistan.

 The purpose of this event is to present the potential and opportunities for investing in the economy of Tajikistan and, in this context, to expand trade and investment cooperation by organizing a free dialogue between entrepreneurs and investors and finding new ways of cooperation in creating joint ventures.

 Investment opportunities of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan were presented by the Head of the investor relations department of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO) Nargiz Nasirzade and the Head of the Entrepreneurship Support Department of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan - Nekruy Zabirzoda.

More than 200 participants from both sides, including heads and officials of ministries and departments, businessmen and investors, as well as representatives of companies and enterprises in various fields of economic activity in Tajikistan and Azerbaijan in the fields of industry, infrastructure, transport and communications, agriculture, healthcare, financial services and tourism took part in the Forum.

After the official part of the Forum, bilateral meetings took place in B2B and B2G formats, and more than 15 new cooperation documents for 700 million US dollars were signed.

The Forum participants highly appreciated the development of bilateral relations and the signing of mutually beneficial agreements and contracts covering all areas of economic cooperation, and agreed that they would continue to regularly hold such events.
