Delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, ADB Governor from the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Hokim Kholiqzoda participated the 57th annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank, which was took place in Tbilisi, Georgia on May 2-4, 2024.
At the meeting, Hokim Kholiqzoda made a speech about the current economic situation in the world as well, region and Tajikistan and emphasized the priority areas and importance of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank.
On the sidelines of the Annual Council, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan held also bilateral meetings with ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa, ADB Vice - President Yingming Yang, Vice - President of the European Investment Bank Teresa Czerwinska, ADB Director General for Central and West Asia Evgeniy Zhukov and ADB Executive Director Vikas Sheel.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank, along with the implementation of reforms and economic transformations in the country, the financing of public investment projects in priority areas, issues related to climate change, the implementation of the "green economy" development strategy, and the attraction of ADB investments for strategically important projects in the country.
The country's delegation also took part in a number of events, including the 14th meeting of the Asian Development Fund.
Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulton Rahimzoda took part as a panelist and made a speech at a high-level session on «Financing Greener Value Chain in the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) region».
