On August 28, was held a meeting between the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khokim Khalikzoda Hikmatullo, as the Governor of the Asian Development Bank, and Rahimzoda Sulton Nurmahmadpur, as the Alternate Governor of the Asian Development Bank, with the Alternate Director of the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank, Mr. Nim Dorji.
During the meeting, priority areas of cooperation were discussed, including transport and energy, agriculture and healthcare, in particular the financing of the Rogun HPP and other important sectors of the economy and social sphere.
It should be noted that this meeting took place as part of the visit of the Asian Development Bank mission to the Republic of Tajikistan on August 26-31, 2024.
During the visit, the Alternate Director of the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank will visit the Rogun HPP, the Water Supply and Sanitation Project, the Dushanbe-Boktar Highway Project, the water supply system of the Rudaki district and medical facilities.
It is worth noting that the Asian Development Bank is one of the important partners of the country, and over the 26 years of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank, the Bank’s financing portfolio for Tajikistan amounted to 187 projects totaling $2.5 billion.
Currently, the Bank is investing US$950.0 million in priority areas of the national economy of the Republic of Tajikistan within the framework of 16 projects.
