On November 24, in the city of Riyadh, in sidelines of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was held a meeting between the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Khalikzoda Hokim Hikmatullo and the President of the Islamic Development Bank Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Al-Jasser.
At the meeting, were discussed the issues of current cooperation and prospects for relations between Tajikistan and this prestigious financial organization and was expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral constructive cooperation in the implementation of a number of priority projects in the fields of education, healthcare, energy, transport and irrigation.
It was emphasized that over the years of cooperation, the Islamic Development Bank has allocated more than 916 million US dollars for the implementation of priority projects in the Republic of Tajikistan. Currently, 7 investment projects on 237 million US dollars are being implemented in the country in the fields of energy, transport, irrigation, education and healthcare.
At the same time, the parties expressed their interest in strengthening relations in other important areas of the country's development, such as industry and agriculture, energy, digitalization, development of urban infrastructure, especially drinking water supply systems, housing and communal services, reconstruction of roads and their transformation into modern international roads.
At the meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kholiqzoda Hokim Hikmatullo presented the President of the Islamic Development Bank Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Al-Jasser with the state award of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Order of “Friendship” for his valuable contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation.
President of the Islamic Development Bank Muhammad Suleiman Al-Jasser expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Honorable Emomali Rahmon for awarding him with this state award.
