On November 26, the fourth meeting of the Joint Committee of Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia on Economic, Trade, Investment, Technical and Cultural Cooperation was held in the city of Riyadh of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the participation and speech of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kholikzod Khokim Hikmatullo.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the political and diplomatic spheres, security, trade, investment, finance, customs, energy, industry, transport, communications, education and science, environmental protection, agriculture, media, culture, tourism, sports and other issues.
It was stressed that during the years of independence, a reliable basis for cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres has been formed between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and taking advantage of all available opportunities between the two countries, it is possible in the near future to witness the rapid development of relations between the two countries in these important areas.
Attracting investments from financial institutions and large companies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was recognized as important for the implementation of social and infrastructure projects, the development of production facilities and the introduction of modern technologies in the sectors of energy, transport, building materials, textiles, gemstone processing, pharmaceuticals, food, construction of tourist complexes and modern hotels.
In conclusion, Chairman of the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulton Rahimzoda and Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia Khalid al–Falih signed the minutes of the fourth meeting of the joint Committee of Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia on economic, trade, investment, technical and cultural cooperation.
