On July 16, 2025, a high-level virtual meeting was held between representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan and the U.S.–Tajikistan Business Council under the theme “Digital Technologies and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).”
The main objective of the event was to discuss opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in priority areas of economic digitalization, exchanging experience in e-government development, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the adoption of modern technologies in key sectors of the economy.
The meeting featured remarks from Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda, Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hakim Ismoilzoda, First Deputy Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies; and Ms. Elena V. Son-LaRocca, Executive Director of the U.S.–Tajikistan Business Council.
During the discussions, the parties focused on priorities of the national digitalization policy, potential cooperation with foreign investors in the ICT sector, establishment of technological clusters, development of human capital, ensuring cybersecurity and data protection, creating favorable conditions for the introduction of modern technologies, and training of highly qualified ICT specialists.
The meeting was attended by leading U.S. companies, including SpaceX, Nasdaq, Broad Street Capital Group, Harvard University, Medtronic, and other prominent institutions. Company representatives expressed interest in exploring joint cooperation, pilot projects, and supporting innovative initiatives in Tajikistan.
The parties agreed to continue working-level coordination between Tajikistan’s relevant institutions and U.S. technology and investment companies through joint working groups and regular follow-up meetings.
