On July 25, 2025, under the initiative of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan together with the executive authority of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), held the International Investment Forum “PamirInvest-2025” in the city of Khorog.
The main objective of the Forum was to attract investment into the economy of Gorno-Badakhshan, establish new production enterprises, ensure deep processing of local raw materials, increase industrial competitiveness, expand exports, and promote the development of tourism infrastructure and communication networks.
The Forum brought together more than 200 participants, including leaders and representatives of government agencies, the diplomatic corps, investors, and development partners from the United Kingdom, the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as domestic entrepreneurs.
During the official segment of the Forum, speeches were delivered by the Governor of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region Alisher Mirzonabot, Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies Aziz Nazar, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management Khurshedai Qodir, Deputy Director of the Export Agency Abdugaffor Jamolzoda, Acting Head of the World Bank Office in Tajikistan Farrukh Sultonov, British Ambassador to Tajikistan Ms. Catherine Smitton, Indian Ambassador to Tajikistan Rajesh Viker and other distinguished guests, who presented investment opportunities and advantages.
The event continued with three thematic panel discussions:
– “Opportunities and Investment Attraction in the Economy of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region,”
– “Establishing Mineral Processing Enterprises within the Years of Industrial Development (2022–2026),”
– “Enhancing the Export Potential of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.”
As part of the Forum, an exhibition of industrial products and traditional crafts of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region was organized, along with B2G and B2B meetings between government agencies and the business community.
As a result, 46 cooperation agreements were signed between public and private sector representatives, with a total value exceeding 650 million Tajik somoni, covering sectors such as construction, agriculture, processing industry, sports, and tourism.
