The power plant consists of 6 hydropower units, the last of which was commissioned in 1956 with a design capacity of 21 MW.
Over the course of 69 years of operation, the hydropower unit and other main equipment of the power plant have become obsolete, and its production capacity has decreased to 12 MW.
Since 2019, with the support and initiatives of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, modernization work has begun at the facility, and in almost 7 years, 6 hydroelectric units of the power plant have been completely renovated, each with a capacity of 29 MW.
