On November 26, 2025, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, led by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hokim Holikzoda, took part in the Third Economic Forum “Central Asia – European Union,” which was held in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Forum brought together high-ranking representatives of the governments of Central Asian countries and European Union institutions, as well as international financial organizations, the private sector, and expert circles.
During the Forum, issues were discussed related to improving the business and investment climate, supporting structural reforms, promoting green and digital transformation, expanding trade and economic relations between Central Asian countries and the European Union, and developing transport and logistics infrastructure in the region with active involvement of financial and technical resources from European public and private partners.
In his opening speech, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hokim Holikzoda, emphasized that Tajikistan highly values the level of cooperation with the European Union and is committed to further implementation of joint projects that correspond to the long-term interests of sustainable development of the country and the region. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening industrial cooperation, enhancing digital competitiveness, modernizing energy infrastructure, and creating favorable conditions for expanding trade and investment.
As a result of the Forum, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue consistent cooperation, implement joint investment projects, and promote economic sustainability in the region.
In addition, the Chairman of the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management, Suton Rahimzoda, participated and spoke at the panel session “Business and Investment Environment,” the First Deputy of the Committee for Construction and Architecture, Ulugbek Umarzoda, at the panel session “Strengthening Professional Capacity in Central Asia” and the First Deputy Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies, Hakim Ismoilzoda, at the panel session “Regional Integration.”
Within the framework of the Forum, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hokim Holikzoda, also held meetings with the European Union Commissioner for International Partnerships, Mr. Jozef Síkela, and the Vice President of the European Investment Bank, Mr. Marek Mora, during which key issues of Tajikistan’s cooperation with the European Union and the European Investment Bank were discussed, including strengthening investment cooperation, implementing infrastructure and energy projects, as well as supporting initiatives in the fields of green economy, transport, and digitalization.
