      Tajikistan–Japan Business Forum

      On December 19, in Tokyo, Japan, the Tajikistan–Japan Business Forum was organized by the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan jointly with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The Forum brought together heads and representatives of government authorities and the private sector of both countries.

      At the opening ceremony of the Forum, welcoming remarks were delivered by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurahmon Abdurakhmonzoda, the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sulton Rahimzoda, and the Executive Vice President of JETRO, Mr. Takafumi Suzuki. In their speeches, they discussed existing opportunities and future priorities for the development of bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

      The participants were also presented with the investment potential of the Republic of Tajikistan through a video presentation.

      Within the framework of an interactive session, the Director General of the State Unitary Enterprise “Tojinvest” under the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, Dilshod Jurazoda, delivered a presentation on the investment climate and practical mechanisms for promoting entrepreneurship in Tajikistan. Particular attention was paid to attracting foreign direct investment, digitalization of the economy, development of green energy, and prospects for public–private partnership.

      As part of the Forum, a number of bilateral cooperation documents were signed between relevant government bodies and private sector representatives of both countries. During the informal networking session, Forum participants had the opportunity to exchange views on specific areas of future cooperation.

      The Tajikistan–Japan Business Forum represents an important step toward further strengthening bilateral trade, economic, and investment relations between the two countries.
