On April 27–28 of the current year, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sharifzoda Muhammadzarif Rahmon, participated in and delivered a speech at the 10th International Public-Private Partnership Forum held in Barcelona.
The Forum was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and brought together representatives of governments, international organizations, financial institutions, and the private sector to discuss issues related to the development of public-private partnerships, investment attraction, implementation of infrastructure projects, achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, application of modern financing mechanisms, and strengthening of international cooperation.
This year, the central theme of the Forum was “Mobilizing Partnerships: Building Sustainable PPPs and Infrastructure for a Sustainable Future.” The program included plenary sessions, expert discussions, and presentations of projects aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Special attention was paid to climate-resilient infrastructure, the use of innovative financial instruments (including green bonds and blended finance), as well as the application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence throughout the lifecycle of PPP projects.
During meetings and discussions held within the framework of the Forum, information was presented on the investment opportunities of the Republic of Tajikistan, ongoing reforms to improve the investment climate and develop PPP mechanisms, as well as the implementation of priority projects, particularly in renewable energy, infrastructure, and social services sectors.
