Meeting with the Speaker of the Majlis Shura (Parliament) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

On July 1, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the Speaker of the Majlis Shura (Parliament) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh.

At the beginning of the conversation, Emomali Rahmon emphasized: "We consider Saudi Arabia one of our important partners in the Arab and Islamic world."

The parties expressed satisfaction with the progressive development of bilateral relations in parliamentary diplomacy and reaffirmed mutual interest in further strengthening and expanding them.

Considerable attention was paid to maintaining political dialogue and expanding cooperation in the economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

The importance of expanding cooperation in implementing joint investment projects in the real sectors of the Tajik economy of mutual interest was noted.

It was emphasized that continuing to engage Saudi Arabian financial institutions in projects of national and regional significance would contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Expanding collaboration in light and food industries, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and the development of transport infrastructure were identified as important areas of cooperation.

The parties also focused on expanding cooperation in science and education, healthcare, culture, sports, and tourism.

A substantive exchange of views on international and regional issues took place.

In this context, the Tajik side expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its support of Tajikistan's initiative to declare 2027–2036 as the "International Decade of Strengthening of Peace for Future Generations."
