Address at the Opening Ceremony of the Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

On 28 September 2026, in Doha, Sulton Rahimzoda, Chairman of the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, took part in and addressed the opening ceremony of the Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in his capacity as Vice Chair of the Annual Meeting.

The meeting brought together representatives of 86 AIIB member countries, including government officials, heads of finance, economy and investment authorities, central banks, international financial institutions and the business community. This year's event carried particular significance as it marked the completion of the Bank's first decade of operations, and was dedicated to reviewing the results achieved and identifying priority areas for future development.

In his address, Sulton Rahimzoda highlighted AIIB's achievements over the past 10 years in strengthening regional cooperation, financing infrastructure projects and supporting the sustainable development of its member countries. He noted that within a short period the Bank has become one of the most respected multilateral financial institutions and plays a significant role in addressing key economic development challenges in the region.

Particular attention was given to the development of fruitful cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and AIIB. Special mention was made of the Bank's support for the implementation of the Rogun Hydropower Plant project, as well as the USD 800 million Multi-Year Investment Programme being implemented in cooperation with AIIB.

In conclusion, Sulton Rahimzoda expressed the Republic of Tajikistan's readiness to continue broad cooperation with AIIB and its member countries in implementing major infrastructure and investment projects.
