To participate in the 55th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank on September 26-30, 2022 representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan - the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan esteemed Davlatali Said and the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Qodirzoda Sadi conducted.
During the Annual Meeting, the delegation of the republic has held bilateral meetings with the President of the Asian Development Bank - Mr. Masatsugu Asakawa, the Vice-President of the Bank - Mr. Shixin Chen, the Executive Director of the Board of Directors of the Bank - Mr. Sameer Kumar Khare, the Director of the Central and West Asia Department, Mr. Zhukov Evgeniy and the Minister of Finance of Pakistan – Mr. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq as a member of the Bank.
During the meetings, it was noted that for the 24-year partnership between Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank, the financing portfolio consists of 175 joint projects worth more than 2.3 billion dollars and the implementation of these projects plays significant role in the development of the most important sectors of the economy of the republic.
It was also stated that the Asian Development Bank is one of the main development partners of the Republic of Tajikistan and currently 16 joint investment projects worth 868.9 million dollars are being implemented in the republic in the following sectors - transport, energy, agriculture, healthcare, education and financial sector.
The parties have expressed their readiness to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation aimed at the development of the region.
Generally, the meetings were held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and good understanding.
