Business dialogue with companies of the Republic of South Korea

On September 5, 2022, in the city of Dushanbe, at the initiative of the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management and Cooperation of the Embassy of the Republic of South Korea, business dialogue was held with Korean companies in order to diversify the attraction of foreign investment to the economy of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The event was opened with welcoming speech by the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management Qodirzoda Sadi Sanginmurod, the Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir, other officials and spoke about the measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan related to attracting foreign investment in the republic`s economy, creating favorable conditions for foreign businessmen and investors, as well as romising areas of cooperation.

The event was attended by more than 80 participants, as well as representatives of the ministries of economic development and trade, industry and new technologies, foreign affairs, the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and representatives of Korean companies, who made  presentations on the opportunities for developing cooperation.

During the event, responsible persons made presentations on opportunities and favorable environment for investment, the current situation with Korean investments in the republic, the possibility of attracting investment and ways of mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed.

As part of the B2B (entrepreneur to entrepreneur) meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of establishing cooperation.

It should be noted that according to the program the delegation of Korean investors and businessmen, visited the industrial zone of the city of Dushanbe and the production facilities of the domestic enterprises “Vahdat Textile”, “Asrori Sang”, “Stone” and the Joint Venture  Company of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan “Artel Avesto Electronics”.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation.

In general, the event was held in atmosphere of mutual understanding.
