On 27 December 2024, in the building of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a regular meeting of the Council on Public-Private Partnership was held under the leadership of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the Council on Public-Private Partnership respected Kholikzoda Ҳokim.
This meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Council - Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management, Council members - Ministers of Justice, Finance, Economic Development and Trade, Chairman of the Committee on Architecture and Construction, Director of the State Institution ‘Centre for Implementation of Public-Private Partnership Projects’, as well as the leadership of the State Committee on Land Management and Geodesy, Committee of Housing and Communal Services, Sughd Region, cities of Bokhtar, Istaravshan and district of Gafurov.
It was noted that the mechanism of public-private partnership is one of the modern ways of attracting private capital into the economy, and the state under the agreement can establish appropriate co-operation with the private sector for the development of infrastructure and social services.
In this regard, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has implemented a number of measures to establish co-operation with the private sector, improve the business environment and create a legal framework for the public-private partnership mechanism.
At the meeting of the Council on public-private partnership 5 projects of public-private partnership were discussed and considered in the sphere of health care, provision of clean drinking water, creation of sports centre and poultry farm.
At the end of the meeting, it was suggested that ministries, agencies and executive bodies of state power to use the available opportunities for the development of infrastructure, social services and improvement of living conditions of the population, as well as cooperation with the private sector for the implementation of infrastructure projects and social services through the mechanism of public-private partnership should be seriously strengthened.
