On February 5, 2021, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Said Davlatali, the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the United States, and the Tajik-American Business Council met virtually with representatives of the U.S. private sector to introduce them to investment opportunities of the Republic of Tajikistan and review trade and investment potential of American companies active and or interested in doing business in the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by senior Tajik Government officials represented by Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, Mr. Sadi Kodirzoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United States, Mr. Farrukh Hamralizoda, President of the Tajik-American Business Council Mr. Philip de Leon and a wide range of representatives of the private sector of Tajikistan and America, including American Councils for International Education, Boeing, General Electric, Caterpillar, Coca-Cola, Comsup, John Deer, Medtronic, Silverleafe, Valmont, VISA, Zeppelin, Xenophon Strategies, Somon Air, Tojik Air other.
During the event, Mr. Said Davlatali responded to American companies' inquiries and noted that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is ready to take adequate measures to attract direct investments and create favorable conditions for American companies.
At the same time, representatives of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management presented a comprehensive review of the Republic of Tajikistan's investment opportunities. They invited American business to take part in the country's priority investment projects.
During the U.S. business community meeting, the rich natural resources of Tajikistan, such as water, precious stones, non-ferrous metals, and other minerals, were presented, and ample opportunities for cooperation in the field of agriculture, processing of agricultural products, including cotton.
The Executive Director of the Council, Ms. Elena Son, noted that such events are of particular importance in today's conditions. As a result, a series of virtual meetings between the private sectors of both countries will be facilitated in the nearest future.
In general, a video conference was held in the atmosphere of mutual understanding between the parties to promote further fruitful and multifaceted discussion of new ways of trade and economic cooperation.
