Based on the consent of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulton Rahimzoda, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir and representatives of other ministries and departments of the country with the aim of expanding and strengthening bilateral cooperation with the countries of Southeast Asia from November 17 to November 26 are making a working visit to Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
From 17 to 19 November, as part of a working visit to Malaysia, the country's delegation held fruitful meetings with Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Mr. Yusuf Fadillah, former Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Mahathir bin Muhammad, Minister of Finance of Malaysia Mr. Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia Mr. Liew Chin Tong, Crown Prince of the Sultanate of Negeri Sembilan of Malaysia Mr. Tunku Ali Rezauddin and the Group of Chambers of Commerce of Malaysia.
As part of this visit, on 18 November 2024, was held the Tajikitan-Malaysia Investment Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with the participation of the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan and the leadership and representatives of government agencies and business circles of Malaysia.
At this Forum, the investment opportunities of the Republic of Tajikistan were presented by the Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management Sulton Rahimzoda.
Also within the framework of the Forum, during the panel discussion on the topic “Tajikistan and Malaysia: Business Network Forum”, Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir, Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management Sulton Rahimzoda and First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Firuz Sharifzoda provided specific answers to questions from representatives of Malaysian business and investment circles regarding the investment climate and opportunities in Tajikistan.
During the meetings and the Investment Forum, the parties expressed their desire to further strengthen trade and economic cooperation, including attracting direct investment from Malaysia for the implementation of priority projects in the areas of green economy, energy, renewable energy, mining and processing of minerals, and processing of raw materials.
